ELECTIONS 2026
Every ballot in Tennessee this fall will feature three constitutional amendments:
- If voters approve, Amendment 1 would give judges more leeway to order people held without bail in cases involving certain serious crimes.
- Amendment 2 would prohibit the state from instituting a property tax. This isn’t something the state has done in many decades, and city and county property taxes would not be affected.
- Amendment 3 would enshrine a package of rights for crime victims known broadly as Marsy’s Law.
To reach the ballot, all three proposals had to have approval from the state legislature.
