Nashville-based Centerstone has won a $5 million stimulus grant to help Middle Tennesseans train for and find health care jobs.
The program is specifically focused on unemployed workers in Maury, Bedford, Coffee, Marshall and Lawrence Counties.
Centerstone Research Institute COO Tom Doub says the company’s mental-health clinics will work to match people up with training programs and counsel them as they search for jobs.
“We in our normal work in health care already come in contact with a lot of people who have become unemployed or jobless, so a lot of the population that we serve already is a good match for these kinds of services.”
The grant is expected to cover services for about 600 people in the five targeted counties.
Training will be available for the following occupations:
Certified Nurse Aide
Licensed Practical Nurse
Registered Nurse
Emergency Medical Technician
Certified Medical Assistant
Pharmacy Technician
Radiological Technician
Surgical Technician
Respiratory Therapist
Phlebotomist
