A new study from the state comptroller’s office looks at how Tennessee schools are spending the state’s Race to the Top funds.
The state received 500 million dollars from the federal government, with every local school district getting a share of that money.
The report shows schools are spending more than 20 million dollars for instructional coaches for teachers. 17.5 million has been spent on leadership training. Schools have spent nearly 17 million dollars on incentive pay for teachers.
