Groups for and against federal cap and trade legislation have targeted states like Tennessee with high manufacturing bases. Nashville has played host to both sides. Those against climate legislation attack the bill, arguing it would raise energy costs. At a town hall meeting last night organized by a group backed by Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection, speakers steered clear of the words “cap and trade” entirely and talked up green jobs.
