Stepped-up enforcement across the state resulted in 28 arrests of boaters over the July 4th weekend for driving drunk. Nearly a third came on Old Hickory Lake.
A 24-year-old man from Chattanooga also drowned over the holiday weekend on Chickamauga Lake. The single fatality matches numbers from last July 4th, but there were nearly a dozen more arrests this year for boating under the influence.
