A Hungarian woman pleaded guilty in Nashville today to half a million dollars worth of online fraud.
34-year-old Beatrix Boka says she and a fellow-Hungarian who already pleaded guilty would fraudulently list cars for sale on sites like eBay. Dozens of victims wired them money as payment and never got those cars.
Boka set up numerous bank accounts in the southeast under fake names, used a fake passport and wired much of the money to criminals overseas. She faces a sentence of up to five years in prison and $250 thousand fine.
