Keith Urban’s benefit concert earlier this month raised more than $550,000 for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Hall of Fame released figures Thursday.
The event sold out Nashville’s Sommet Center and was streamed online by nearly a million people worldwide. Hall of Fame director Kyle Young says the fundraising is nice, but the exposure is priceless.
“I can’t actually put a value on what this has done to raise the visibility of the institution.”
John Grady is part of Keith Urban’s management team and says the so-called “All for the Hall” concert should also inspire other country artists to do the same.
“I hesitate to use the word ‘gauntlet,’ but it raises the bar of participation and of having the knowledge that someone was there before you, and to support the history of this art form.”
Grady says the benefit concert wasn’t a one time event for Urban. The Australian-born artist already has another show on the calendar for October 5th of next year in Nashville.
